2022 End of Year Donation Vote
In 2017, we started a holiday tradition that has been a customer, employee, and community favorite.
Rather than send out Christmas cards that eventually get thrown away, we take the money we would spend on printing and postage, add some to it, and donate that money to a deserving, amazing charity.
Charities are helped. Trees are saved. And lives are changed.
The best part: we let our customers, employees, and local community vote on which charity receives the donation!
How We Decide
Each year’s “ballot” includes 3 charities — all chosen by the team here at Fusion Tech.
These charities are important (and often personal) to our employees and what they value.
But, we don’t just throw any charity in the mix.
Each charity needs a minimum of an A rating on various charity watch groups to ensure donations are handled and administered ethically and live up to the solutions they claim to provide.
Other requirements included:
- Roughly 75% or more of their budget is spent on programs
- Spend $35 or less to raise $100 in public support
- Do not hold excessive assets in reserve
- Meet strict governance benchmarks
Charities to Choose
The following three charities are open for voting to receive this year’s donation:
Rally for Reid
The Rally for Reid Foundation provides financial and emotional support to children and families impacted by childhood cancer. Whether through gas cards, meals, or special activities, the Rally for Reid Foundation hopes to ease the burden on families and support them through their fight.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay.
University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital
As Iowa’s only comprehensive children’s hospital, we provide care for children from birth to young adulthood.
Services range from promoting wellness to the care of general childhood illness, surgery, traumatic injuries, life-threatening and chronic illnesses, and developmental disabilities. As part of an academic medical center, UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital also performs groundbreaking research to help solve the mysteries of childhood diseases, in addition to training the next generation of healthcare professionals.
How to Vote
The charity above that receives the most votes by Saturday, December 31, 2022 will receive an end-of-the-year donation from Fusion Tech.
