Fusion Tech Helps Donate Intubation Boxes to McDonough District Hospital

As a business that started and stayed local, we believe it’s essential to give back to our community, especially in crazy and uncertain times like this.

We are happy to announce that this week, we were able to donate the plexiglass used to build an intubation box for McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, Illinois.

The project was spearheaded by Jacob Bentz, son of Fusion Tech owners Kathy and Brandon Bentz, and friend Alec Thompson.

Fusion Tech Hosts Warren County 4-H Club

Investing in the local community is important to us here at Fusion Tech.

It’s why we were excited to have the Happy Hustlers club from our local Warren County 4-H group came out to visit our facility on Thursday, June 6.

Warren County 4h Happy Hustlers tour shopSeven members of the club, along with two chaperones, were treated to a brief history and overview of our company from Dan Bentz, VP of Sales, and a tour of our facility from Jason Vana, Marketing Director. They even got to see the progress of our current expansion and learn how it will help not only us as a company but our local economy as well.

We showed students some current projects we’re working on, both in our drafting department and on the shop floor. They were able to see our new Snack Stick Cutter, two of our Smokehouses, some platforms and stairs, and a few conveyors all that are being built for our customers.

“It was a joy having the Happy Hustlers club at our facility,” explained Jason Vana, marketing director. “The students loved getting to see our shops and the various equipment we use to provide solutions to our customers. As a company, we think it’s important to invest back into our local community, and helping young people see that there is a big company out here with a global reach, and to introduce them to the world of manufacturing, is one way we do that.”

In December 2018, Fusion Tech made a substantial year-end donation to the Warren County 4-H club. Customers and community members were able to vote on where we would make the donation, and the 4-H club won by 54 votes.

If your club or organization would like to schedule a tour of the Fusion Tech facilities, please contact us at [email protected].

3 Reasons We’re Proud to be a Small Business

Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, which recognizes the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners.

More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year.

We’re proud to be part of that group.

tariffs

A Letter in Response to Steel & Aluminum Import Tariffs

Dear Fusion Tech Customers,

As you have heard, President Trump has finalized the tariffs on imported steel and aluminum. As of Friday, March 23, 2018 a 25% tariff on imported steel and 10% tariff on imported aluminum has been implemented.

A large majority of Fusion Tech’s base materials, including filler materials, have been and will be affected by these tariffs.

Due to the vast uncertainty surrounding new pricing and how it will affect the market, our vendors will no longer adhere to the practice of notifying us of price increases, nor will they be able to honor any previously agreed upon price contracts. We have no control of this price dynamic. We will be forced to pass along these increases as we get them.

How does this affect you?

  • We have changed the valid period on all quotes sent out after March 23 from 2 weeks down to 3 days.
  • Pricing may change upon receipt of a purchase order, depending on fluctuating materials pricing

This will not affect purchase orders that have already been submitted prior to March 23, 2018.

Fusion Tech will continue to communicate the pricing changes as soon as we are notified. We greatly appreciate your business and patience during this time.

Thank you,

Fusion Tech Staff
