warren county fair

Proud Sponsor of the 2015 Warren County Fair

As a locally-grown company, we at Fusion Tech take great pride in our community and regularly invest in making this a better area to live and work. One of the many ways we do this is by regularly sponsoring the Warren County Fair.

We believe in the importance of giving 4H members, cattle and pork raisers, pageant participants, and every other individual participating in the fair the opportunity to develop in their passions and skills. Doing so will only help develop the future of our region.

And we know the importance of investing in our region.

Fusion Tech itself started with three people in a garage just outside Roseville and have grown to a professional company employing over 80 local residents, and we’re not stopping! It was our local farmers, companies, schools, and residents who believed in us and the quality of products and services we provided. Without our local area, we wouldn’t be here today.

So make sure you pick up a Fair Book, find the Fusion Tech ad, read up about our commitment to this area, and enjoy your time at the Warren County Fair!

4 Reasons We Invested in a Booth at Process Expo

Process Expo is just under two months away — and it has us thinking about all the reasons why we decided to exhibit at this year’s show.

This is our first time at Process Expo (at any food processing trade show, really), and we’ve had a lot of people asking why we decided to exhibit this year and why start out at such a huge show.

It’s true, Process Expo is a big trade show and is a pretty big investment (have you ever exhibited at a trade show before? The costs are crazy!), but it’s an investment we are willing and want to make — because it benefits YOU.

We are proud to be counted in such an amazing group of entrepreneurs and visionaries who set out to create something new, add to the economy, and provide jobs for those in their local community.

Fusion Tech Participates in Manufacturing Day

On Friday, March 27, Fusion Tech participated in the annual Manufacturing Day and Welding Competition held at Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Illinois. Organized as a way for current college and high school students to learn about exciting career opportunities available in the manufacturing field, the Carl Sandburg College Manufacturing Day was a prime way for Fusion Tech to continue investing in the next generation of manufacturing professionals.

A number of students visited our table, learning more about the various career opportunities available to them right here in the area. Our team was able to answer questions, hand out information, and cheer on the students as they competed in the welding competition.

Participating in the Carl Sandburg College Manufacturing Day and Welding Competition is just one way Fusion Tech invests in the next generation.

monmouth college visit

Monmouth College Visits Fusion Tech

On Tuesday, February 10, Fusion Tech played host to the Midwest Entrepreneurs class at Monmouth College. Dan Bentz, General Manager at Fusion Tech, gave the class of 20 or so students a tour of our facilities, showing them our multiple shops, office areas, and design and drafting department.

The students in Professor Terrance Gabel’s class learned about Fusion Tech’s history, services, competitive advantages, and the lessons learned along the way of starting and operating a growing manufacturing company. Dan highlighted two main lessons for the students:

  • Never burn bridges as an entrepreneur
  • Grow your business by serving your current clients well and developing new clients

It was a great experience for the Monmouth College students to see our facilities and shop in action, and a great opportunity for Fusion Tech to continue investing in the next generation of manufacturing.

meat myths

Debunking Meat Myths

There are a lot of myths when it comes to meat – especially in the way consumers view the meat processing and packing industry. Hormone injections, health and safety inspection frequencies, the safety of eating processing meat, livestock affects on the environment, and the cost of meat are just a few areas where conjecture, fear, and scare-tactics have caused meat myths to arise.

It can often be difficult for the consumer to determine meat myths from truth, especially when said myths are highlighted in the news and on websites across the world. So how do you accurately debunk meat myths and learn the truth?
