end of year donation vote

2023 End of Year Donation Vote

December at Fusion Tech means one thing: It’s time for our annual End of Year Donation Vote!

Since 2017, we stopped sending out Christmas cards (that always end up in the trash anyway) and gave that money to a charity making a difference in the world.

Charities are helped. Trees are saved. And lives are changed.

But we don’t just randomly throw a dart to choose the charity.

Instead, we invite our customers, employees, and the local community to vote on which charity receives the donation!

How We Decide

Each year’s “ballot” includes three charities — all chosen by the team here at Fusion Tech.

These charities are important (and often personal) to our employees and what they value.

But we don’t just throw any charity in the mix.

Each charity needs a minimum of an A rating on various charity watch groups to ensure donations are handled and administered ethically and live up to the solutions they claim to provide.

Other requirements included:

  • Roughly 75% or more of their budget is spent on programs
  • Spend $35 or less to raise $100 in public support
  • Do not hold excessive assets in reserve
  • Meet strict governance benchmarks

Charities to Choose

The following three charities are open for voting to receive this year’s donation:

american brain tumor association

American Brain Tumor Association

The mission of the American Brain Tumor Association is to advance the understanding and treatment of brain tumors with the goals of improving, extending and, ultimately, saving the lives of those impacted by a brain tumor diagnosis. They do this through interactions and engagements with brain tumor patients and their families, collaborations with allied groups and organizations, and the funding of brain tumor research.

greater burlington

Downtown Partner’s Inc

Downtown Partners, Inc., a division of the Greater Burlington Partnership, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve and revitalize Downtown Burlington. hetta gilbert

Hetta Gilbert Children’s Medical Organization

The Hetta Gilbert Children’s Medical Organization has been helping local kids for over 100 years, providing children with assistance with medical costs, prescription glasses, dental care and more; donating clothing and household items for families in crisis; purchasing infant formula and even providing beds for kids who otherwise wouldn’t have one.

How to Vote

The charity above that receives the most votes by noon on Sunday, December 31, 2023 will receive an end-of-the-year donation from Fusion Tech.
