Fusion Tech Speaks at Monmouth College
On Thursday, April 24, Fusion Tech General Manager Dan Bentz was a guest speaker in the Midwest Entrepreneurs class at Monmouth College. The class is offered through the Political Economy and Commerce Department and has a unique twist: every class period, entrepreneurs from the Midwest share their knowledge and experience with the students.
The Monmouth College students in Professor Terrance Gabel’s class learned about Fusion Tech’s history, services, competitive advantages, and the lessons learned along the way of starting and operating a growing manufacturing company. Dan highlighted three main lessons for the students:
- Learn from your mistakes
- Your people are your competitive advantage
- Working with the customer is important to building lasting relationships and customer loyalty
As part of the class requirement, every student is required to submit a blog post about one of the presenters that semester. Nikki Hurt, a student in the class at the time of the presentation, wrote a post about the presentation by Dan Bentz and her thoughts about the information. You can read the post on the Monmouth College class blog.
While some of the information in Nikki’s post is incorrect, it does show the impact the story of Fusion Tech has on the next generation.
It was a great experience for the Monmouth College students and a great opportunity for Fusion Tech to continue investing in the next generation of manufacturing.
