Fusion Tech Makes a Large Donation to Local Food Pantries

Investing in our local community is a high priority here at Fusion Tech.

As a business that started local and stayed local, we know it’s our responsibility to step up and help our community, especially in times of crisis.

It’s why we made the decision at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic to donate $5 for every COVID-19 Guard we sold to local food pantries.

“We feel incredibly fortunate that we are able to help in this way and feel the need to step those efforts up during this time,” said Kathy Bentz, owner. “Helping to ensure our community has enough to eat only makes sense, as we regularly work with food processing companies.”

On August 3, we donated a total of $18,225 to the following food pantries:

Jamieson Community Center in Monmouth, Illinois
Western Illinois Regional Council in Macomb, Illinois
Community Action of Southeast Iowa in Burlington, Iowa

With our earlier donation of $13,775, that brings the total up to $32,025 since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“A HUGE thank you for your donation,” said Nancy Mowen, Executive Director of Jamieson Community Center. “Your continued contributions are a big part of the reason we have been able to expand our services during this time.”

We also helped sponsor WMOI/WRAM’s Annual Half Way to Freezing for Food event on August 5th and 6th, with proceeds going to benefit the Jamieson Community Center in Monmouth, Illinois, and the Roseville Helping Hands Food Pantry in Roseville, Illinois.

“Most businesses talk about being a helping hand for their local community,” said Jason Vana, marketing director. “Fusion Tech lives it. Instead of holding onto that money, we decided to increase our charitable giving to help those in need. That’s just who we are as a company.”

We’re not done giving, either.

Future donations will be made as more COVID-19 Guards are sold.
